Ambient music’s willowy pope, Tim Hecker, one of the leading figures in experimental electronic music today, whose unique and influential sound is a blend of delicate noise, drone and sublime electroacoustic sounds, is coming to Athens on April 19th 2023.

Tim Hecker is a Canadian musician and sound artist, born in Vancouver. Since 2001, he has produced a range of audio works for labels including Kranky & 4AD. His works have been described as “structured ambient”, “tectonic color plates” and “cathedral electronic music”. More to the point, he has focused on exploring the intersection of noise, dissonance and melody, fostering an approach to songcraft which is both physical and emotive. His repertoire spans 10 albums over nearly two decades including the seminal and critically acclaimed Ravedeath 1972, Harmony in Ultraviolet and Virgins. He is frequently commissioned for contemporary dance pieces, sound-art installations and film scores & is currently working on a 5 part series for the BBC entitled ‘The North Water’ directed by Andrew Haigh, as well as independent film ‘Lucifer’ by Austrian filmmaker Peter Brunner. Both are slated for release in 2021.

Saber Rider + Anna Vs June

Saber Rider and Anna Vs June make electronic music in Athens, Greece, mostly with hardware audio machines. They worked together recently on the album Music for Cats, following an improvisational approach where a series of live jams was then edited into songs.

With three solo releases and various guests in recordings and live gigs with other musicians, Saber Rider has been very active in the Greek music scene and abroad. Often picks music for radio shows in Movement and Fade Radio and plays DJ sets in various events.

Anna Vs June aims to capture the equilibrium between electronic & traditional music by also encompassing her eastern and western music references. Her discography features various releases including solo albums and compilations in labels across Europe like Invisible, Inc., Yalançı, Osàre! Editions and Rocket Recordings.
