One of the hottest comedians in Australia and having made a name for himself globally, Australian Comedian, Podcaster, Radio Host and Law Graduate Amos Gill now divides his time between Australia and the USA, where he is a touring headliner.
\nA history buff and Adelaide Law School graduate, Amos spent ten years earning his degree whilst working full-time as a touring comedian, literally finishing the final subject in the airport lounge of LAX in 2019 while in the middle of a US comedy tour before graduating with honours.<\/p>\n
Kicking off a stellar career in 2012 with an impressive appearance as national runner-up in triple j\u2019s RAW Comedy competition, Amos went on to earn nominations for the Best Emerging Comedian and People\u2019s Choice awards at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe for his debut solo show You\u2019ve Changed. That year also saw Amos hand-selected by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) directors to host the prestigious Comedy Zone showcasing four of Australia\u2019s best new comedians, and in 2014 he was once again honoured by MICF with a Best Newcomer nomination.<\/p>\n
With multiple appearances on TV comedy galas including multiple Just For Laughs Australian showcases, MICF Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, ABC2\u2019s Comedy Up Late, Amos has also been seen on as a recurring guest on Ten\u2019s Celebrity Name Game and Studio Ten. He is soon to appear on Jim Jefferies and Friends \u2013 a stand-up series helmed by Jim Jefferies for the Seven Network, with the show set to air in late 2025.<\/p>\n
On TV, Amos hosted Wacky World Beaters for ABC TV in 2013, before joining Jimeoin as a recurring guest on FIFA World Cup comedy commentary series The Full Brazilian (SBS) and landing a starring role for Fox Footy sitcom Four Quarters. He hosted the award-winning series Footy Plus, which aired on Friday nights on Channel Seven as well as on the AFC\u2019s digital platform to an audience that ranks among the biggest in Australian club sport.<\/p>\n
As a leading broadcasting talent, Amos spent four years in Adelaide hosting the Amos, Cat & Angus breakfast radio show for leading Australian broadcaster Southern Cross Austereo. His time with the network came to an end when in 2018 Amos announced that he was giving up breaky radio\u2019s notorious 4am rises and relocating to the USA to crack a comedy scene in which he had already carved out a name for himself as a comic to watch and is now based.<\/p>\n
A regular guest on Jim Jefferies\u2019 I Don\u2019t Know About That podcast, in 2025 the pair began a new podcast together titled At This Moment.<\/p>\n
As well as headlining his own shows across the USA, UK, Europe and Australia, Amos is a well-known face to Jim Jefferies\u2019 audiences and has gained legions of fans touring with and opening for the comedy heavyweight on Jim\u2019s Australian and South African arena tours and across the USA \u2013 including a killer performance at New York\u2019s iconic Madison Square Garden to a sell-out crowd.<\/p>\n
In 2022 Amos took his full live show You\u2019ve Wrecked The Joint out on his first solo tour across Australian capital cities. The tour was a smashing success, selling out five shows nationally and adding a show in Perth to meet the demand for tickets.
\nOn his return to Australian comedy festivals in early 2024, word of mouth from audiences at his new show Going Down Swinging created a frenzy for tickets. This saw Amos sell out shows across full seasons of Perth\u2019s FRINGE WORLD and Adelaide Fringe Festival \u2013 eventually adding a massive five extra shows to meet the demand for tickets. He went on to pick up an Adelaide Fringe Award for Best Comedy in the opening week of the season.<\/p>\n
In his adopted home of America, Amos has joined some of the world\u2019s biggest comedy heavyweights including Ali Wong, David Letterman, Chris Rock and Sarah Silverman on the line-ups of the industry-leading Netflix Is A Joke and Moontower Just For Laughs Austin Festivals, and has been announced for Just For Laughs\u2019 career-enhancing OFF-JFL in 2025.
