Some artists are so in tune with themselves that it\u2019s impossible to escape their charms. That\u2019s the case of Manchester rapper-singer Diana De Brito, aka IAMDDB, who\u2019s been climbing the ranks within urban music since she was featured on BBC Music\u2019s Sound of 2018 list.<\/div>\n
Acutely raw and personal across all of her work, De Brito\u2019s sound is like an urban siren song. She calls it urban jazz, but it\u2019s actually a fierce mix of hip-hop, pounding trap and soul with a raspy voice shining in a versatile pantheon of beats and instrumental accents. It\u2019s not hard to imagine why De Brito has critics in turmoil.<\/div>\n

<\/br><\/p>\n

Reconnecting and reinventing are two aspects IAMDDB keeps at the core of her creativity. An artist defined by her songs of fierce female empowerment, representation and self-acceptance, Debrito has earned her a reputation as one of the most promising artists on the British urban scene. Her music has garnered over 20 million streams on Spotify and, most recently, she popped up on Forbes\u2019 hugely influential 30 Under 30 \u2013 an annual list that recognises the most exciting young talent from Europe. In 2019 she released her spectacular album \u201cSwervvvvv.5\u201d, and made a catchy collaboration with Diplo, \u201cMira Mira\u201d.<\/div>\n
